All of our Inns and Cottages are dog friendly and you are welcome to bring your pets with you at a charge of £10 if you're staying for one night, or £15 for the entire stay if you are visiting for 2 nights or more.
Below, you will find more information on where your four legged friend can stay and what areas of the property are pet friendly.
Traveller's Rest - Grasmere
Your dog can stay with you in your room - please note not all rooms are dog friendly, but only our Standard Double rooms and one of the Twin ones, so when placing a reservation, please let us know you are bringing your dog with you and we'll ensure you are allocated to the right room.
Dogs are welcome in the bar area and if you would like to bring your dog with you to breakfast, we can arrange for you to eat in the bar area, rather than restaurant area, where dogs are not allowed.
There are plenty of wonderful walks around the Traveller's Rest you can enjoy with your dog. From Grasmere Lake to Rydal Water, you and your pet will not be disappointed!
King's Head - Thirlmere (at the foot of Helvellyn)
Unfortunately, we no longer accept pets in the residential bedrooms at this Inn, but they're still most welcomed to come along should you wish to dine with us.
King's Head Inn is based at the foot of Helvellyn and just across the road from Thirlmere and there is an abundance of walks to fit all levels of fitness in the area.
Lodge in the Vale - st. John's in the Vale
Lodge in the Vale is a contemporary B&B and dogs are welcome in all areas of the building.
The location of the Lodge is perfect for guests visiting with dogs - with easy access to Keswick, (the dog friendly capital of the Lake District) and an abundance of walks around Thirlmere and st. John's in the Vale.
We especially recommend a walk from the Lodge to Castlerigg Stone Circle. It offers scenic views and is a great low level walk suitable for all levels of fitness.
Cottages:
Bramrigg House - Grasmere
Scandale Bridge Cottage - Ambleside
Balmoral Apartment - Central Keswick
All our cottages are pet friendly so you are welcome to bring your dog with you to enjoy the Lake District holiday together.
